If reading the post title today gave you a mental image of tiny computer animated blue round-blob things, then know that we’re on the same page.

And no, I’m not crazy (I think).

That sentence has been stuck in my head for the last two days and it’s driving me bananas!

But I’ve just realised that that sentence can be applied to me, today, here…now.

Because sometimes I would rather sleep in than get up early to sink in to God’s word and talk with the Creator of the world. Sometimes I would rather clean my shower (yes, this actually did happen the other day…I had a total Martha Martha episode) than learn more about my Saviour. And sometimes I would rather check Twitter than struggle through memorising Scripture.

Ok, I hear you say, slow down. Back up. Pause and rewind. What does that have to do with warped smurfs asking about vitamins?

Because just like our body needs regular healthy foods, vitamins, sunlight and clean water to live at an optimum level of health, our spiritual life needs regular watering, feeding and Son-basking.

‘ Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” ‘

– John 6:35

When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” ‘

–  John 8:12

So, have you had your “inner health plus” today?

p.s No, Inner Health didn’t contact me and ask me to promote their vitamin.

Hello mornings!

Bec and Abbie at the World's Greatest Shave, Picton

Hi there and welcome to “joy cometh by morning”!

My name’s Bec. I suppose you’d like to know a bit more about me? Here’s 3 things that I consider most important about myself:

1. Follower of Jesus – gave my life to Him in 2002 and have been growing, learning, changing ever since!

Hubby Aaron on our wedding day

2. Married to my best friend, Aaron – met him while volunteering at a kid’s camp, and the rest (as they say) is history (I’ll expound on this later).

3. Mum to Abigail Rose – this cheeky monkey is our first baby and has taught me so much over the past year.

Abbie, aged 6 months

I’d like to be able to tell  you that this is my first blog – but I can’t.  I had a brief (and by brief, I mean 2 weeks) period during my carefree university days where I blogged about nothing in particular. Then assignments and life caught up with me, and it never went any further than Week 3 of Semester 1, 2007.

I have higher aspirations for this blog.

My tagline tells you that I’m a searcher, a quester, a seeker…for joy. for grace.

And oh, oh how important vital they are!

So, will you join me in my journey for joy?
